MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — A new Japanese restaurant has opened in the neighborhood. Kiori Japanese Kitchen celebrated its grand opening this month, after much anticipation.
Kiori Japanese Kitchen, which is located at 645 Speedwell Ave in Morris Plains and was previously occupied by Aji Japanese restaurant, held a ribbon cutting ceremony last week to celebrate the grand opening.
The Mayor and other members of the borough council were in attendance for the opening ceremony and Mayor Karr even provided the owners with the Morris Plains “Key to Success.”
The new restaurant, according to the virtual menu posted on the new restaurant’s website, is taking a fresh approach to Japanese cuisine, with menu staples such as Teriyaki Bento Boxes, Japanese Fried Chicken, Ramen and an upcoming sushi menu.
“I am happy and proud that so many businesses have chosen Morris Plains we wish them all the best of luck and success in the Community of Caring. Since I’ve been mayor we have opened nearly 30 new business which helps the local economy and provides jobs for locals,” Mayor Jason Karr said.
